FDS Gig Reviews
27 September 2005 - Cheese & Grain, Frome.
Supporting `Stiff Little Fingers` + `4ft fingers`.

We arrived around 5pm & loaded in the gear, `SLF` turned up 30 mins later to sound check. The sound out front was the usual C&G muddy sound & on stage the moniters were apparently useless, `SLF` left to go back to there hotel less than happy, or in the words of `Jake & Bruce` good luck guys your gonna need it. 4ft Fingers arrived & while they sound checked we went down the chip shop. When we got back they had pushed our time slot forward by 30 minutes so they could put new moniters on stage between 4ft`s & SLF`s sets. So we sound checked as the doors opened & just got on with it. `SLF` were indeed right to want more monitors as we soon found out, we could`nt hear each other & the only thing we could hear was the sound bouncing off the back wall. The venue slowly fill as we went along & it all turned out pretty good, `4ft Fingers` hit the stage & we caught up with loads of punters & mates at our t-shirt stall. `SLF` play`d a blinding set of songs from their whole career & we sank a few beers. Had a chat with Messers Burns & Foxton after the show, got the band to sign a couple of drum skins for us & then it was off to the kebab joint, where the Bro ended up naked...but thats another story...

If you didn,t go to the cheese and grain tuesday,and local to that venue,then you are a fool.You had two of the best energy punk bands playing and Stiff Little Fingers( who always earn to the support of the crowd). Fat Drunk Stupid were fucking excellent,and yet you had people standing at the bar( you can stand at a bar any night of the week).They played the best classic set with energy and attitude,they are a fun band with a great repore with the crowd,but you have to be down at the front to experience their interaction.If you haven,t yet seen them,you have to check out these punks.A great band to start any gig.

My second gig and it was fantastic. I had teenage kicks deicated to me cos i have big breasts!!! (apparently!) even though I went as red as a tomato!! my boyfriend was laughing - cheers Ade! SLF were great but I though FDS were better but then I am biased! I bought the never mind the bollocks t shirt and covered myself in badges! the only bad thing was `Andy-DSB` letching over me all night. I even made him spill his pint cos he was staring south of my face! Jon Jon gave him a taste of his own medicine by pulling his trousers down in the kebab shop afterwards! but seriously though - FDS, you rock!! xxxx

Thanks to the twat that took along a rucksack full of carling this gig was a bit of a blur, SLF sounded ok though.
